Following the trend of recent months at the end of the crisis, Brazil has registered a new high in the number of available formal employment positions in September. And metallurgy appears to be one of the sectors responsible for this growth. This was the sixth consecutive monthly increase in job creation and the seventh since 2017.
According to data from the General Register of Employed and Unemployed , released by the Ministry of Labor , the final growth during September was 34,392 jobs, an increase of 0.1% over the previous month . The industrial sector was mostly responsible for the rise , with a positive balance of 25,684 jobs – and metallurgy assisted in this statistic with a result of +1,666 vacancies.
Ten of the 12 subsectors of Industry showed growth in the period. “The optimism of the industry already translates into numbers in the production and generation of jobs in the sector, and this result is also reaching other areas of the economy,” explained Labor Minister Ronaldo Nogueira.
Other areas such as Commerce (+15,040 jobs), Services (+3,743) and Construction (+380 jobs) also closed the month in the black . According to the figures, half of the eight sectors of economic activity showed growth in the level of employment. “The numbers confirm, once again, the process of gradual recovery of the labor market, as a reflection of the resumption of growth of the economy of the country,” the minister added.
